Stichting Theaterdagen respects your privacy. We only process personal data when necessary – for example, for ticket sales, newsletter subscriptions, or visits to our website.

Footage during events

During our events, we may take photos and videos for promotional purposes. We aim to respect your privacy and do not focus on individuals. Are you clearly recognisable in an image? If so, we will ask your permission in advance or find an appropriate solution if you object.

Privacy statement Stichting Theaterdagen 

Stichting Theaterdagen – organiser of the Nederlands Theater Festival (NTF) and the Amsterdam Fringe Festival – values your privacy and the protection of your personal data. We (referred to as “we” or “us”) process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws.  

This privacy statement explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal data. We ensure that your information is handled securely, carefully, and transparently.

  2. What personal data do we process and why?
    We only process personal data that is necessary for providing our services, promotional activities, and audience analysis. Depending on your interaction with us, we may process: 
    • Name and address (name, street, city, country) 
    • Email address 
    • Phone number 
    • Date of birth 
    • Bank account number (for ticket purchases) 
    • Type and quantity of tickets purchased 
    • Visitor behaviour (anonymised) 
    • IP address and click behaviour (via cookies) 
    • Registrations for newsletters, workshops, volunteer services, or maker programmes
       
  3. Purposes and bases of processing
    We process data based on the following legal grounds: 
    • Performace of a contract: e.g. processing ticket orders.
    • Consent: e.g. sending newsletters.  
    • Legitimate interest: e.g improving our website and marketing.  
    • Legal obligation: e.g. retaining data for tax purposes. Examples of legitimate interests include: 
    • Improving our services through anonymised visitor statistics.  
    • Limited profiling to provide relevant marketing, without significantly affecting your privacy.
       
  4. Photographing and filming during events
    During events organised by Stichting Theaterdagen (both the Netherlands Theatre Festival and the Amsterdam Fringe Festival), photography and/or video footage may be taken. These recordings may be general event impressions in which visitors may be recognisable in the image.Images may be used for communicative and promotional purposes – such as on our websites, social media, newsletters or in (digital) reports of the event. We do this based on our legitimate interest in promoting and documenting our events, while doing our best to respect your privacy:
    • We focus on general impressions, not on individuals.
    • Where possible, we use wide-angle shots or photograph from behind.  
    • If you are clearly recognisable in a close-up or portrait, we will ask your permission in advance.

      Do you object to the use of an image in which you are recognisable?
      Please contact us at contact@ntfpro.nl, and we will work with you promptly to find a suitable solution – such as removing or blurring the image.

  5. Automated decision-making and profiling
    We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing. However, we may use limited profiling to enhance our marketing (e.g. showing relevant performances).
     
  6. Retention period
    We do not retain your data longer than necessary. Data is stored in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and we ensure secure and careful processing.  
    • Ticket and account data: stored up to 7 years after your last transaction, unless legally required otherwise or you request deletion (e.g. for tax purposes). 
    • Newsletter data: stored until you withdraw consent, then deleted within 1 month. 
    • Cookies: retention varies by type — see our cookie statement for details.After these periods, data may be anonymised for analytical purposes.
       
  7. Sharing data with third parties
    We only share your data with third-party processors working on our behalf. These parties operate under data processing agreements that ensure data protection. This includes: 
    • Ticketing and payment: TIXLY, ActiveTickets, Voordemensen, Mollie  
    • Email marketing: MailChimp, ActiveTickets  
    • Web analytics and ads: Google Analytics (anonymised), Facebook, Meta Pixel  
    • CRM and mailing: PerfectView, APG
    • Data storage and planning: Microsoft SharePoint, Festival schedules, YesPlan, ActiveTickets, WordPress, Voor De Mensen, Timesquare 
    • Research: SurveyMonkey, Sara Oomen  
    • Partners: ITA (for NTF ticket handling)

      We may also share data with authorities when legally required, such as with the Tax Office.
      If we share data with parties outside the EU/EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses for MailChimp or Meta).
      We never sell or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes without your explicit consent.
       
  8. Cookies and similar technologies
    We use functional, analytical and tracking cookies. Upon your first visit to our website, we ask for consent for non-essential cookies via a cookie banner. See our cookie statement for more details.
     
  9. Data of minors
    Our services are not intended for children under 16. If we process data of minors, it is only with the explicit consent of their parent or legal guardian.
